Product Description

Hot-dip galvanized steel coils (GI coils) are produced by passing cold rolled or hot rolled steel coils through a molten zinc bath at approximately 460Β°C. The zinc coating metallurgically bonds to the steel substrate, providing excellent corrosion protection. Available with regular, minimized, or zero spangle surface finishes to suit various downstream applications.

GI coils serve as a versatile base material for further processing, including: direct use in roofing, decking, and structural applications; as substrate for prepainted/color coated coils (PPGI); for roll-forming into purlins, studs, and profiles; and for manufacturing pipes and tubes. The zinc coating weight can be customized from Z30 (light commercial) to Z275 (heavy industrial) and up to Z600 for extreme environments.

Quality & Packaging

All galvanized coils are manufactured under ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system on continuous hot-dip galvanizing lines (CGL). Testing includes: zinc coating mass per ASTM A90/A90M (weighing method or X-ray fluorescence), coating adherence (180Β° bend test, ball impact test), surface quality inspection (no bare spots, no zinc flow marks), dimensional verification (thickness profile, width, edge condition), and mechanical testing (tensile, yield strength, elongation, hardness). Mill Test Certificates (EN 10204 3.1) provided.

Surface Protection: Optional chromate passivation (Cr3+ eco-friendly) and anti-fingerprint coating to prevent white rust during storage and transport. Light oil coating for additional protection.

Packaging: Coils wrapped with anti-rust paper and PE film, secured with circumferential steel strapping (minimum 4 straps), edge protection rings on both sides, eye-to-sky or eye-to-wall positioning on wooden pallets or steel cradles. 20ft container: up to 28 tons (2-4 coils).

Storage: Store in dry, ventilated warehouse. Avoid direct contact with ground or moisture. Prevent condensation. Use within 3 months for unchromated material, 6 months for chromated. Stack coils with separators to prevent damage.
